The Borscht Belt Tattler
The Jewish Alps. The Sour Cream Sierra’s. Disneyland with knishes. Welcome to the podcast that celebrates the iconic vacationland that touched the lives of so many people. We may not see these once famous resorts and bungalow colonies again, but you can be sure we're going to kvetch (and kvell) about it here.

Alphonso Gilmore - Law and Order: Sullivan County
Your mid week Borscht Belt fix is here and our guest is a former sheriff of South Fallsburg, New York. Alphonso Ray Gilmore was born in South Carolina but his family moved to Woodridge, New York, in search of a better life, escaping violence and the Jim Crow Laws that enforced racial segregation. Growing up in Sullivan County, Al served his community as Sheriff for 25 years and for 30 years in the transportation and safety department. He speaks of his home with such admiration and respect you will love his stories about working at Kutsher’s, talking about Woodstock and of course his time in law enforcement.
