Stagedoor Manor is a performing arts summer camp that sits on the site of the Karmel Hotel, a once popular borscht belt resort in Loch Sheldrake, New York. While the hotel succumbed to the decline of the borscht belt era, Carl and Elsie Samuelson saw endless potential and built a performing arts camp like no other.
Since 1976, Stage Door Manor has become the leading performing arts summer camp where young performers of all levels can find expression and learn all about the theatre from leading professionals in the industry. In the first of a two part series, get to know Cindy Samuelson, daughter of Carl and Elsie Samuelson who talks about the earlier years and the legend and lore of Our Time Cabaret, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
